Reading, PA- A. Puwelle 3¢ Nov. 25, 1862 Very Good;
York, PA- York Bank 50¢ Oct. 15, 1862 Fine.
This $1 coupon is from the Four Percent Loan of 1907. The coupons were redeemed quarterly with the first payment due in the final quarter of 1879. This coupon has a portrait of Daniel Webster and is from a $100 bond of that issue. There is also speculation that coupons from this issue circulated to pay small debts. This coupon was available for redemption on October 1, 1906. The portrait for these coupons can either be on the right or left side. If the coupon is an even number, the portrait is on the left. If the coupon is an odd number, the portrait is on the right. In fact, this particular coupon is for collectors who are not triskaidekaphobiacs. The coupon has a missing lower left corner. The Puwelle note has been taped repaired and displays edge damage. (Total: 3 items)
