Description
Walter Mondale Autographed Envelope. Not graded.Mondale picture at left. Seen with 15 cent stamp and "New York, NY Aug. 13, 1980 10001" impression. Mondale autograph seen right of center. Text reads "August 13, 1980 - 'Come on Texas' cheered Carter. The roll call vote was announced - 108 Carter, 38 for Kennedy. It put carter's vote total over the 1,666 needed for nomination. Jimmy Carter won the renomination. Within minutes after the Texas vote, Kennedy issued a written statement from his room at the Waldorf Astoria. "I will support work for the re-election of President Carter. It is imperative that we defeat Ronald Reagan in 1980. I urge all Democrats to join in that effort." Mondale was Carter's Vice President during his term in office and a few years later suffered a crushing electoral defeat that sent Ronald Reagan to his second term in office.
