Description

Rare Mechanics Bank of Pittsburgh $10 Obsolete

Pittsburgh, PA- Mechanics Bank of Pittsburgh $10 Nov. 1, 1862 G8 Hoober 312-93 Fine.
Flanked by vignettes of a carpenter and a mechanic as well as twin red X protectors, a large oval portrait of Washington is the focal point of this $10. Aside from a badly battered low grade example which we sold eight years ago in a group lot, this is the only example of the SENC Haxby listing of which we are aware. A rare note that we first sold for over $500 in our Central States sale two years ago.
