Dubuque, IA- Dubuque Western Rail Road Compy. $1; $3; $5 1857-58 Fine-Very Fine or Better.The railroad was incorporated in 1855 and ran into financial difficulties by 1858 when it began issuing post notes bearing 10% interest. The road was reorganized and later operated under the banner of the Dubuque, Marion & Western Railroad Company. Each note bears a manuscript endorsement indicating that it was involved in a judgement in District Court in 1858-59. (Total: 3 notes)
