Netherlands Indies United East India Company, Amboina 15 Rijksdaalders 29.3.1809 Pick UNL PNLI1.3a PMG Extremely Fine 40.
An incredible and uncancelled gigantic letter of credit. This variety was issued via Amboina, in the Maluku islands chain, near West Papua. This example was printed with a date of 29th of June, 1808, which was altered by quill to read 29th of MARCH, 1809. The VOC stamps on both sides are bold and clear. All told, the technical grade of this enormous letter of credit is fantastic. The extra wide lower margin is also mostly clean. Minor rust and edge damage are mentioned for accuracy. Extremely rare, historic, and desirable.
