Netherlands Netherlands Bank 25 Gulden 1814 (11.1.1857) Pick A2 PL54.h AV44.8 PMG Very Fine 20.
This extremely rare and important "Red Robin" 25 Gulden is part of the cheque-style series that was issued from 1814 to 1862. This example is circulated but very pleasant, and it is one of only two examples graded in the PMG Population Report at the time of cataloging. Some tears to the thin paper are mentioned for accuracy, but they do little to detract from the appearance. The printed and written ink all presents well. Specifically, this is the 7th variety of this long-running type, without black security print, but with two designs in the watermark. A key banknote for the Netherlands and one that almost never presents itself in the marketplace. Not to be overlooked.
