Fr. 363 $5 1891 Treasury Note PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
Coin Notes, Series 1890 and 1891, were used for the most part to honor Union military heroes of the Civil War, with military figures appearing on six different denominations between $2 and $1,000 dollars. This $5 honors General George Thomas, popularly known as the "Rock of Chickamauga." This well margined and boldly inked example was last on the market in a 2002 auction.
