Description

$10 1934 North Africa PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 "Exceptional Paper Quality & Embossing"

Fr. 2308 $10 1934 Mule North Africa Silver Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
A well preserved $10 North Africa World War II Emergency Issue with serial number B07560554A is in this lot. It is fully margined with excellent color and exhibits prominent embossing of the serial numbers and the large blue 10 counter. This last merit has earned this note the rarely awarded "Exceptional Paper Quality & Embossing" grade modifier. PMG has graded a total of only 18 B-A block notes compared to 47 A-A block pieces. The PMG Population Report shows that all of the 64 EPQ and higher grades for this Friedberg number are from the B-A block with just two graded equal and three higher by a single grade point. All Fr. 2308 notes are mules, with this example having micro face plate number 126 and macro back plate number 619. Our most recent offering of a PMG 65 EPQ example was in January 2025 when a note just two serial numbers removed from our current offering realized $19,800. Tonight's offering is a virtual twin of that beauty and has a good chance to surpass that winning bid.
