Gem San Francisco District $1,000 Dark Green Seal Mule
Fr. 2211-L $1,000 1934 Mule Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem
Uncirculated 65 EPQ.A beautiful example of a DGS Mule from the elusive San Francisco district, this is one of just five pieces graded at this lofty level by PMG with only one note listed a single point finer. It is a very well margined note with wonderful color, bright paper, and easily seen embossing on the back. Looking through our archives, we did auction another PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ example of this Mule note almost five years ago for $11,400 and, two years ago, we offered a non-Mule piece, in a PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ holder, that fetched almost $20,000. This is another well preserved high denomination note that we are pleased to offer this evening.
