Rarely Offered Gem 1934 Dallas $1,000

Fr. 2211-K $1,000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
Just 46,800 1934 $1,000s were printed and issued through the Dallas Federal Reserve, with scant Uncirculated survivors. The result is that the Dallas district is among the rarest in Gem grades. Just five examples are known, both 65s and 66s combined, and including the Mule and non-Mule, as well as the minutely delineated a and b varieties in Friedberg. Natural paper wave is noted in the holder, combined with bright paper and a seemingly perfect overprint. With the exceptional eye appeal exhibited here and the downright rare Gem grade, a realization above $20,000 would be no surprise. Even more noteworthy is that collectors may face a drought of Gem offerings lasting several years.
