China Peiyang Currency Bureau 500 Cash 1905 Pick S2531 S/M#P36-1 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The Peiyang Currency Bureau predates the famous Pei Yang Tientsin Bank from which an extremely colorful series of banknote remainders are known to exist. This interesting and very rare vertical banknote is tied for the second finest grade in the PMG Population Report at the time of cataloging of only 13 notes present in the census. The dragons motif and pleasing color schemes used create a striking effect that further endears this type to collectors worldwide. We have offered this type only twice previously with this example being the best of the trio. Not to be missed.
