Choice Fr. 253 $2 1899 Silver Certificate Star Note
Fr. 253* $2 1899 Silver Certificate Star PMG Choice Uncirculated
64 EPQ.Fr. 253 star notes are very scarce with only 16 examples presently recorded in the Track & Price Census. This example is striking, with bright original paper, vibrant colors, and excellent margins and centering. This note and two others are tied for second place presently in the PMG Population Report behind a single note grading 65 EPQ. Two years ago, we auctioned a very similar note, two serial numbers removed from this example, for $9,300 as part of our 2022 CSNS US Currency Signature Auction. Believe that we will test that price level again tonight.
