Low Serial Number 251 Fr. 247 $2 1896 Silver Certificate PCGS
Banknote Gem Unc 65 PPQ.A plate letter C Educational $2, this offering possesses ideal color and an overly broad top margin. PCGS Banknote has graded three examples equal and seven higher. Our last two offerings at this third party grade were a PCGS Banknote 65 PPQ that realized $17,400 in January 2024 and a PMG 65 EPQ that realized $14,400 in January 2025. Neither of those two notes had a three digit serial number like the serial 251 example in this lot. With all that in mind, this high grade, low serial number Fr. 247 should easily outdistance those previous two results when the hammer falls for this note which is making its auction debut.
