EPQ.The nicely margined Napier-McClung Black Eagle in this lot possesses all the attributes of a Superb Gem Unc certified representative. Blazing white, entirely original paper surfaces, good face to back registration, and readily visible, deep serial number and Treasury Seal embossing have all contributed to this piece's lofty grade. This note's embossing is quite exemplary, and combined with the splendid paper surfaces, PMG has granted it the "Exceptional Paper Quality & Embossing" accolades. The third-party grading service has certified just two examples of this number finer than our current offering, according to the PMG Population Report. We last auctioned this exact note in January 2024, when it fetched $5,040. Expect that figure to be tested or surpassed tonight.
