Fr. 16c $1 1862 Legal Tender PMG Gem Uncirculated 65
EPQ.Series 1862 and 1863 $1 Legal Tenders have large designs, with little space between the notes on the sheet for large margins. Poor cutting techniques did not allow for even separation of the notes. All these factors considered, Gem examples of the type with this eye appeal are very far and few between. New to the census, the beautiful example we are offering this evening is one of the rare exceptions, displaying wonderful color, pristine paper surfaces, and more than ample margins all around. Last year, we offered a PCGS Banknote Gem 65 PPQ note which realized $10,800.
