Fr. 164 $50 1880 Legal Tender PMG Very Fine 25.Although over 250 examples are known of this Friedberg number, virtually none are reported in the Uncirculated grades, an unexplained anomaly that serious collectors have been aware of for decades. We last handled this pleasing, moderately circulated $50 in our September 2000 auction. A hardly noticeable edge repair has been mentioned by PMG.
