Fr. 156 $50 1880 Legal Tender PMG Very Good 10.A very scarce Friedberg number, there are only fourteen examples recorded in the census. Three of those repose in institutional collections, and only two grade as high as Extremely Fine. The others almost all low grade, with most coming from a hoard uncovered in the 1980s by an Ohio currency dealer. This piece comes from that group and has several small repairs, though the colors and appearance are certainly nice for a note in this state of preservation.
