Kirtland, OH- The Kirtland Safety Society Bank $5 Feb. 10, 1837 G8A very nice grade example from this Mormon run institution, bearing the signatures of J (oseph) Smith, Jr. and S (idney) Rigdon. This piece is just a trifle lower grade than the specimen we sold last September which brought a runaway price of $2990. Bright Very Fine+++, a problem free example with bold signatures which comes from the collection of Arlie Slabaugh.
