Skip Changeover Pair Fr. 1602/1605 $1 1928B/1928E Silver Certificates PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40 PPQ.Skip changeover pairs, where two series are skipped as in this lot, are truly rare as the tenth edition of Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money by John Schwartz and Scott Lindquist list very few examples of this particular type of changeover pair in their Appendix II on pages 362-79. In fact, they cite only two examples of the $1 Silver 1928B/1928E skip changeover pair. The skip changeover pair in this lot with serial number I26386620B for the 1928B $1 and serial I26386621B for the 1928E is previously unreported. This skip changeover pair contains a Series 1928E example which is the key to the $1 Silvers. Both notes have earned the same third party grade with the PPQ grade modifier. Our examination finds that both notes exhibit not only paper originality, but near-identical handling. In summary, this is a great lot for a serious collector of small size notes. (Total: 2 notes)
