Description

Rare Basin, Wyoming Large Size Note

Basin, WY - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 632 The First National Bank Ch. # (W)10858 PMG Very Fine 20.
A great note from the only issuer in this small northern Wyoming locale, this $10 is one of just six pieces in the census from this bank that was only in business from 1916 until the receiver arrived, after just eight years of operation, in 1924. Crossing the auction block for the first time, it is a pleasing, moderately circulated and problem free note with nice color and bold signatures, one pen signed and one stamped. Just two other notes from this sought-after charter have made public appearances in almost 20 years, one of them being another $10 Plain Back, graded as a raw Very Fine, that sold for $9,600 in a 2021 auction.
