Description

First of Three Consecutive Dramatic Doubled Back Print $5 Errors

Doubled Back Print Error Fr. 1961-L $5 1950 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Banknote About Unc 53 PPQ.
This is the first of three consecutive examples of a doubled back print error. The second printing of the back is shifted approximately 2 mm up and 1 mm to the right. This produces a dramatic example of this error with distinct doubling of both "5" counters, both "Five" counters, the Lincoln Memorial building, "The United States of America," and "Five Dollars." This plate letter A note has a sliver of a back sheet number along the top edge. It must be remembered that Series 1950 was the last series for twelve subject sheets, thus the notes' sheet position letters are A-L, and they are serial numbered consecutively.
