Palestine, TX - $100 1902 Date Back Fr. 691 The First National
Bank Ch. # (S)3694 PMG About Uncirculated 53.This quite lovely note is just the second example of this denomination to be reported from this popular Anderson County bank. It becomes the finer of just two $100 Date Backs reported from this charter. This pen-signed beauty features bright paper, blazing ink colors, and only minimal traces of circulation. It also represents a better type and denomination for all Lone Star State banks as only fourteen other $100 Date Backs are reported for all Texas charters, five of which are in institutional collections. By way of comparison, three years ago, the other known $100 from this bank, in a PCGS 45 holder, sold for $10,800 at auction.
