Rare Lubbock Red Seal

Lubbock, TX - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The First National Bank Ch. # (S)6195 PMG Very Fine 25.
From a very rare north Texas bank, the first issuer in this Panhandle location, this attractive Red Seal is one of only three reported examples from this charter that was only in business from 1902 until 1915 when it elected to close its doors. Once part of The J. L. Irish Collection that was auctioned in 1997, this $10 exhibits great color and bold pen signatures. It is also the only note from this rare charter to have made a public appearance in almost 25 years. Some minor stains have been lightened, but this minor flaw is more than offset by this rare Texas note's overall pleasing appearance.
