The Montgomery issue $1,000 was the only type of this denomination issued by the Confederacy, and was the highest denomination issued by the CSA government. These notes were printed in limited quantities during the sprint of 1861 before the capital of the CSA was moved to Richmond. Redeemable twelve months after the issue date, these notes accumulated 10¢ a day in accrued interest. PMG mentions restoration and stains.
