Tupper Lake Uncut Sheet

Tupper Lake, NY - $20 1929 Ty. 2 The Tupper Lake National Bank Ch. # 8153 Uncut Sheet PCGS About New 53PPQ.
This attractive uncut sheet comes from a one-bank Franklin County community nestled in New York's Adirondack Mountains. It is one of several small size uncut sheets known from this charter that, for decades, were held as vault cash by the bank. As an aside, your cataloger was shown the sheets by the bank's President in the late 1980s and, while he was unsuccessful in prying loose one of the sheets at that time, he did provide the bank with sheet holders from dealer Tom Denly to protect the notes from further handling. Then, in 2007, the Tupper Lake National merged with a major regional bank and the sheets subsequently found their way into the marketplace. This Type 2 $20 sheet, bearing serials 19 to 24, is a bright, well embossed sheet with just some light handling seen around the margins.
