Jackson, MS - $50 1902 Date Back Fr. 674 The State National Bank
Ch. # (S)10463 PMG Choice Fine 15.This great Mississippi rarity is not only one of just three $50 Date Backs reported for the entire state, it is also one of just two pieces reported from an obscure capital city bank that was only in business for eleven months in 1913 and 1914. It is a true miracle of survival as this short-lived institution issued only 40 examples of this high denomination. Bearing low number 39, this $50 displays nice color, even wear, and legible pen signatures. Not surprisingly, it has been the only example offered from this bank since 2007 and it will likely remain that way for quite some time.
