Description

West Seneca, NY - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 635 The Seneca National Bank Ch. # 12925 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45.
This is one of only four large notes extant from this Buffalo area bank, and one of only two truly high grade examples. It's signed as President by Edward A. Duerr, a prominent figure in Buffalo area banking who also signed notes from several other National Banks, including the South Side NB of Buffalo while serving as President of that institution as well. Richard obtained this note when Bill Donlon sold the Buffalo area collection of Dr. John A. Muscalus, a prominent early researcher and collector of obsolete currency, in January of 1974, where this piece was lot 246.
