Description

Very Rare Snohomish, WA Small Size - Finest of Three Known

Snohomish, WA - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 3887 PMG Very Fine 30.
This is a great note from an excessively rare bank that bears one of the most popular Washington State town names to appear on a National. The town name was originally derived from the name of the dominant local Native American tribe. This community eventually played host to two note-issuing banks. However, one of the banks was only in business from 1891 until 1897 and is unreported, and the other has only three large and three small in the census, with only tonight's offering having made a public appearance since 2004. The finest of the three 1929 Series examples reported, this is a bright and crisp piece with nary a flaw save light, even wear.
