Warrenton, VA - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 642 The Fauquier National Bank Ch. # (S)6126 PMG Very Fine 25.A mere six large examples are reported from this Warrenton bank, located in the county seat of Fauquier County. Once a bucolic northern Virginia county seat with a population of around 1,500 when this note was issued, the town is now a bustling part of the Washington, DC, metropolitan area with a population of over 10,000. This piece is new to the census, and displays even circulation, bright paper, and nice purple stamped signatures. The only large note from this bank offered to collectors during the past five years was a PMG graded Extremely Fine 45 EPQ which fetched $4,320 in our FUN auction two years ago.
