Homer, NY - $20 1875 Fr. 434 The First National Bank Ch. # 2398
PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30.A very scarce note, this Series 1875 $20 comes from a Cortland County bank that issued First and Second Charter notes only before liquidating in 1900. This offering is, quite likely, the finest of the mere half dozen pieces in the census and the first to cross the auction block since 2009. Last on the market in our auction of The Bill Sabis Collection in 2003, this is a very attractive example of a scarce type and denomination with great color and legible pen signatures. PCGS Banknote has noted some light staining in the bottom margin which has been partially removed, but which has little effect on the overall eye appeal of this pretty note.
