Alexandria Bay, NY - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank of
the Thousand Islands Ch. # 5284 PMG Very Fine 20.An always in demand note, this offering bears one of the greatest names to be found on any New York National. The only bank to issue in this resort community in northern New York State, the First National opened in 1900 and maintained a circulation of just $15,000 until the receiver arrived in 1933. Last on the market in a 2006 auction where it was acquired by our consignor, this is one of just four small size reported from this popular charter. Bearing low serial number D000004A, it has solid paper with just some light staining noted by PMG.
