Tell City, IN - $5 1875 Fr. 401 The First National Bank Ch. # 2201 PMG Very Fine 20.This is a great note from an excessively rare Perry County bank and the first that we have been able to offer from this charter. Only in business from 1874 until 1878, this bank issued only First Charter $5s and, as of 1910, just $285 remained outstanding. Tonight's offering is one of just four pieces reported and only the second of that quartet to ever cross the public auction block. It is a pleasing, pen signed note with decent color and just some minor repairs that only serve to enhance this rarity's overall appearance.
