Newly Reported Serial Number 1 Arlington Plain Back

Serial Number 1 Arlington, MA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 607 The Arlington National Bank Ch. # 11868 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 EPQ.
A most attractive Serial Number 1 example from this scarce Suffolk County bank, this is also just the fifth large size to be reported from this charter that always brings strong prices whenever an example appears at public sale. This institution operated in one of this state's more historic communities as Paul Revere's famous ride took him through this town, then known as Memotomy. This piece is a well printed and deeply embossed $5 with dark printed signatures and just a few light storage folds. Two years ago, we auctioned a non-Number 1 $5 Plain Back from this bank, in a PMG Very Fine 35 EPQ holder, for $9,000. This newly reported piece should certainly exceed that realization.
