National Bank Ch. # (E)6960 PMG Very Fine 20.A great serial number 1 Red Seal from one of the most affluent communities in the Garden State. It's from the first sheet of $5 Red Seals issued by this Somerset County location's sole charter right after it opened its doors in 1903. Long listed in the census as the only number 1 note from this charter, it is making its inaugural auction appearance this evening. While it does show signs of circulation, the red overprint remains quite bold and the pen signatures are sharp and clear. This is a note that sure to excite the many collectors of the Garden State.
