Rare Orlando, FL Brown Back
Orlando, FL - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 469 The First National Bank
Ch. # 3469 PMG Choice Fine 15.This great Florida rarity hails from a very rare Orlando bank that issued only $5 Brown Backs during its brief existence from 1886 until the receiver arrived to shut the doors in 1895. To date, just five notes are reported but, aside from a Serial Number 1 example, none have been publicly offered in over a quarter-century. One of that quintet, this note has some tape repairs on the back, but it faces up quite nicely with sharp ink colors and dark pen signatures. This is a significant note for Florida collectors or anyone who appreciates rare Nationals.
