Bethel, ME - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The Bethel National Bank Ch. # 7613
PMG Very Fine 25.A great note from an excessively rare Maine bank and just the second example we have ever been able to offer from this issuer. This was the only note-issuing bank that operated in this remote mountain locale that had just $9,900 outstanding in both large and small size in 1935. It is one of just three small (and two large) reported from this charter and is crossing the auction block for the first time. It is identical in grade to another Type 1 $10 from here that brought $8,400 in our last Central States auction.
