Double Serial Number 1 With Replacement Serial Number
Niagara Falls, NY - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 609 NB of Niagara & TC Ch. # 12284A new to the census rarity which is offered here to collectors for the first time. It is a double serial number 1 example which is the sole serial number 1 example of any kind reported from this bank. In addition, PCGS states on the holder that the top right serial number was removed and reapplied at the BEP, as there was apparently a printing error on the first sheet. This piece is from the "A" position, making it the top note on the first sheet bearing this title. New 62, a lovely note with just a bit too much handling to merit a higher grade.
