Description

Very Rare Lake Worth Note

Lake Worth, FL - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 607 The First National Bank Ch. # 11716 PMG Very Fine 20.
This truly rare Florida note hails from a very tough one-bank location and is being publicly offered for the first time. It is one of just five pieces reported from this short-lived issuer that was only around from 1920 until the receiver arrived to close the doors in 1927. A pleasing, moderately circulated example of the only type and denomination issued by this charter, this $5 has solid paper and clear stamped signatures. PMG has noted a few trivial rust specks which do nothing to detract from the overall rarity and desirability of this Plain Back. By way of comparison, four years ago, we auctioned another PMG Very Fine 20 example, without rust specks, for $14,400.
