Newly Discovered Cambridge Red Seal

Cambridge, MA - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The Charles River NB Ch. # (N)731
A great note from a bank which, despite having issued continuously between its organization in 1864 and its dissolution in 1914, remains prohibitively rare. Just five notes are known from this institution, and, more important for collectors, only two have been offered at public sale during the past two decades. This new to the census piece is the only Red Seal reported. Fortunately for collectors, it is a real beauty with good centering, a sharp overprint, and plenty of eye appeal for its PMG assigned grade of Choice Very Fine 35. If rarity and desirability are any guide, expect bidding to easily reach and likely well exceed...
