Description
Richmond, VA- Barley & Brown 25¢ Jan. 1, 1862 Jones-Littlefield PR60-050 PMG Choice Fine 15.At present there is very little information on this partnership, although there is some evidence suggesting that this may have been a commission merchant firm. Both partners have signed their full names, William G. Barley and William Henry Brown. This note was the plate note in the Virginia state catalog. Although well circulated, the note has come through the experience without attracting any repairs or grievous condition impairments. The edge chip in the upper right corner does not touch the frameline. Jones gave this note an R-7 (2-4 known surviving examples) rating, with which we concur, as we have not previously offered this note type.
