Appealing Fr. 1178 $20 Small Red Seal Gold Note
Fr. 1178 $20 1882 Gold Certificate PMG Very Fine 30.This is the most available 1882 $20 Gold Certificate type, shows the small red scalloped treasury seal at lower right, and has blue serial numbers. The census numbers over 1,000 notes making these ideal type notes. Very Fine 30 appears to be a conservative grade as this example possesses considerable originality. The vibrant colors on both sides are noteworthy, and wide margins throughout are exceptional for the technical grade. Mike bought this beauty two decades ago from Don Kelly at the Memphis show. Another perfect type note worth in excess of current trends.
