CSA Watermarked Paper Variety
T28 $10 1861 PF-11 Cr. 236A PMG Very Fine 25.This is one of the classic rarities of the Confederate series. This note is printed on paper watermarked CSA in vertical block letters. In 2014, Fricke estimated a surviving population of perhaps 6-10 examples and in 2005 listed this note as the second highest reported grade with a storied provenance including time in the Grover Criswell, Douglas Ball, and Arnold Cowan Collections. While PMG mentions stains and there is a pin or tack hole in the upper right corner, those relatively minor impairments will be forgiven by experienced CSA collectors who understand the rarity of this note and the opportunity to acquire it. Fricke indicated that a mere 1600 notes on watermarked paper were issued.
