Description

Houston, TX- Consolidated Fund of Texas $5,000 Bond Apr. 19, 1839 Cr. 37F PMG Very Fine 30.
Authorized by the Act of June 7, 1837, this $5,000 bond bore 10% interest and was callable at the government's discretion at any time after September 1, 1842. The bond is well printed on good paper with the selvage being attractively cut in an "indented" style ala colonial currency (although on this bond this served no purpose). The bond has all seven original warrants attached and has been cut canceled with a split elsewhere in the bottom border. A rare item in above average condition.
