CT-XXI/B1 $20 1861 Female Riding Deer Fantasy Note PMG Very Fine 20.As mentioned in the description for the previous example of this Female Riding Deer note, there are two schools of thought regarding this note. The first is that it was a spurious design placed in circulation by counterfeiters and then copied by S.C. Upham while the second is that this design was created by S.C. Upham and then copied by one or more facsimile competitors. We will leave it to the successful bidder to decide which point of view seems more plausible. This note is completely intact with a few rather light and inconsequential stains.
