Babson Park, FL- Scenic Highlands State Bank $10 ____ 1933 Benice-Listed (Page 177) Mitchell-Shafer FL110-10c PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ, POCs.Babson Park is a small community in Polk County, about half way between Tampa and Orlando. H. & W. B. Drew Co. prepared "Cashier Checks" for a number of banks in Florida in anticipation of the need for such emergency money during the Great Depression. Most sources believe that none of these were indeed issued. The notes use a common design and the denominations each share a common color. This note, which has POCs in the signature line, served as the plate note on page 177 in Benice's Florida catalog. Very rare with only three examples known to us at present.
