South Carolina February 8, 1779 $80 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.The $80 denomination features a robed male holding a sword surrounded by the motto CONSTANTIA DURISSIMA VINCIT (The firmest constancy will conquer) on the face and a vignette of a shield in front of a Liberty Pole and cap and trumpets on the back. The note is well printed on bright paper with decent margins and bold signatures of signers James Bentham, Sims White, and Philip Prioleau.
