Description

Gem Fugio Back Design 1776 $1/6

Continental Currency February 17, 1776 $1/6 PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
A lovely fractional Continental issue, this example has the Fugio design on the back and is boldly signed by Robert Tuckniss. The paper is bright and free of defects or repairs. The note is completely framed, with the left margin on the face being a bit snug. This note is presently tied with two others for the top grade recorded in the PMG Population Report. We last sold an example in this condition in our 2017 Eric P. Newman VIII Currency Signature auction where it realized $4,800.
