Description

Continental Currency February 26, 1777 $30 Contemporary Counterfeit Very Fine, POC.
A counterfeit that shows circulation as well as a light printing to help it hide amongst genuine notes. The back has a penned notation of "Francis Biddon N 117" and with "No 117" penned on the face, too. This indicates that this nefarious note was probably evidence in a long ago counterfeiting legal case. The punch out cancel is found within the wreath in the vignette. It has been nicely repaired.
