Description

High Grade San Francisco $10 FRBN

Fr. 1860-L $10 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
We last offered this beautiful Small Size FRBN in our 2008 Central States Signature Auction. It sold for more than $6,300 as part of Tom Flynn's collection and was described, "The Dallas and San Francisco districts are by far the two scarcest in high grade in the $10 Federal Reserve Bank Notes, with the San Francisco district perhaps the most difficult to find in truly uncirculated grade. This piece is as nice as any we have seen in recent years, with the PMG holder noting 'Exceptional Paper Quality, Great Embossing' on the back. Expect the Schwartz catalogue value of $3,000 to be exceeded early in the bidding." If our FUN auction a few months ago was a barometer for the Small Size market as a whole, we fully expect that previous realization to be bested here this evening.
