Description
Magnificent 1861 $100 Proof
Fr. 202b Hessler X126G (1141) $100 1861 Interest Bearing Note Proof Very Choice New, PC. This Friedberg number is only known in the proof format, with Hessler assigning it a R-8, 1 - 3 known. This plate letter C uniface proof note comes from the John J. Ford Collection, and it now merits a rating of a High R-7, with a population of four or five known. Traces of foxing are noticed, the edges of the back exhibit evidence of once being mounted, and six small punch cancels are found in the signature blocks. However, this magnificent proof has been able to escape folding by the curious, and should make its next owner proud.Auction Info
